Corona Krise verstehen - Corona Virus explained for children

Well, it´s quite an actual subject. As you may know, in Germany schools and children care are closed, due to the Corona pandemie. Schulen und Kindergarten sind zu. For bigger children it´s not that hard to explain what happens, they addapt quite well to the situation. But how do you explain this to a 5 years old?

 A preschool teacher Ursula Leitl, wrote for her 5-year-old son and all kindergarten children a story about a rabbit on the subject of Corona! Under the link below you can view the entire book.

Here her message: 

"Dieses Buch habe ich für meinen fünfjährigen Schatz geschrieben. 

I wrote this book for my five year old sweetheart. 

Als ehemalige Erzieherin und Mutter verstehe ich, dass Kinder im Kindergartenalter viel mehr mitbekommen, als man denkt, dass jedoch rationale Erklärungen oft nicht die Ängste und Sorgen nehmen. 

As a former educator and mother, I understand that kindergarten kids get to know a lot more than you think, but that rational explanations often don't take away their fears and worries.

Die Geschichte habe ich mir ausgedacht, um zum einen meinen Kleinen in den Verhaltensregeln zu schulen; damit er versteht, warum wir derzeit so isoliert von Freunden und Verwandten leben und vor allem, um ihm die Angst zu nehmen und ihm zu zeigen, dass diese Geschichte gut ausgeht. 

 I made up the story firstly to teach my little about rules of behavior, so that he understands why we currently live so isolated from friends and relatives, and above all to relieve his fear and show him that this story has a happy ending. 

Ich möchte gerne diese Geschichte mit allen teilen, die Kinder im Kindergartenalter haben um Ihnen zu helfen, mit Ihren Kindern die Corona-Krise gut zu überstehen. 

 I would like to share this story with everyone who has kindergarten children to help you get through the Corona crisis with your children. 

Meine Geschichte kann gerne um eigene Kapitel erweitert oder verändert werden.
